The Talented Mr. Ripley

--------------------------------------------------

One of my favorite movies is: "The Talented Mr. Ripley." This movie is set in the late 1950's New York. It is about a young man named Tom Ripley, a young underachiever, who is sent to Europe to retrieve a rich and spoiled millionaire playboy, named Dickie Greenleaf. But when the errand fails, Ripley kills the playboy and begins to assume his life. He even falls for the playboy's fiancée.

--------------------------------------------------

This movie stars many wonderful actors including: Matt Damon (as Tom Ripley); Jude Law (as Dickie Greenleaf); and Gwyneth Paltrow (as Marge Sherwood, Dickie's fiancée).

I like this movie on so may levels. My favorite actor Jude Law plays a character who is into Jazz music, and I myself can relate as I too like Jazz music. I also like the mysterious air about this movie, it is very thrilling.

One of my favorite quotes from the movie is from the character Tom Ripley:

"I always thought it'd be better to be a fake somebody than a real nobody."

--------------------------------------------------

I would recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it.

You can find out more about this movie on the
Internet Movie Database

What is the use of poetry if no one reads it or comments on it --
it just becomes idle words on a page.
